What Is The DL90?
The DL90 is an automotive data logger,
designed to record data in sports/racing cars as they go around a track for later analysis
on a computer. This type of unit used to be used exclusively by the big racing teams with
similarly big budgets, but increasingly data loggers are used at all levels of motor
sport. Even if you just attend the odd track day, or are simply interested in improving
your car or driving skills, then data logging can provide invaluable information. The big
difference between the DL90 and the equivalent units from other manufacturers is the price
to performance ratio that we offer. Put simply, our logger provides all the functionality
that you would expect to see on a logger costing far, far more and support that is
unsurpassed.. |

Why Is The DL90 Better Than
The Competition?
Firstly, the DL90 uses GPS to measure the vehicle speed and position around the track. The
use of GPS results in both more accurate results and far
simpler logger installation. For a minimum installation simply plug in the power connector
and start recording data - Compare that with all the hassle of fitting wheel speed sensors
and setting up track side beacons in the rain!
Secondly, all the data processing is done on the PC not in the DL90 - this results in a
simpler more robust logger, which can be made significantly cheaper than the competition.
Finally Race Technology is a small company, owned and run by motor sport
enthusiasts. As a customer, this guarantees you unsurpassed support and continuous
product improvements to ensure that we are one step ahead of the competition. We provide
life long email & phone support and free software and firmware updates - if a
bug fix is required it will normally be sorted out the same day by our resident software
engineer. |
What Data Can The DL90
Record?
The DL90 can record the following 100 times
every second for up to 87 minutes:
Can easily be moved from car to car. Compare your Data
with a faster or slower friend.

Is The DL90 Reliable And Well Made?
Definitely! We recognise that the DL90 is
going to be used for extended periods in a racing environment and have designed it to be
totally reliable. We have used superb quality materials inside and out. The meter is
manufactured using automated production techniques wherever possible to ensure it is
really robust. The DL90 was designed by us in England, all the manufacturing, calibration
and testing processes are carried out in the UK. All the electrical inputs are
protected to exceed the relevant automotive standards. In the highly unlikely event you
have any problems within 12 months of purchase it will be repaired or replaced absolutely
without question. |
Is The DL90 Easy To Use?
We have tried to make the software as
intuitive as possible, this is backed up by comprehensive electronic help. Realistically,
if you have used other windows packages then you should be up and running in half an hour.
However, there is no need to take our word for it - Go to the DL90 Software page and
download the complete software package and give it a try! The DL90 unit is simplicity
itself, one button for power, one button to start and stop logging - how simple could it
be? |
How Accurate Is The DL90?
This is a very complicated subject because
of the number of different things you can measure using the DL90 - there simply isn't a
single answer ! The very short answer is it is very accurate indeed ! To find out more
about the accuracy of different measurements have a look at the technical specification of
the DL90. We will be writing more on the subject soon. |
